Jabaro is an experienced bounty hunter who has traveled across multiple countries. His latest stop was in Kenya, where he was met with an interesting network of relations between several prestigious tribes. In his journeys and pursuits, he became quite a prolific hunter in Kenya, but his interests were steered in a completely different direction when his eyes fell upon a female cheetah seeking to create a tribe of her own.

Story

Time with Kuva

At this point, Jabaro had already initiated relations with the English settlers camping in Kenya. Having done many jobs for them, he became trustworthy to them and teamed with Kuva to negotiate trades between them and the settlers. This helped Kuva get back on her feet and provide better for her young siblings. The two fell in love, Jabaro eager to show Kuva the ways of the settlers.

Jabaro himself was enamored with them, dreaming of a time he can sail back with them to live life in advanced civilization and to leave behind the cruelty and primitive nature of the African wildlands.

Mika's Arrival

One day, Kuva came to Jabaro with terrible news: The oldest of her three siblings, Kibwe, had gone missing. They spent days looking for him, but with no luck. A settler that the two often interacted with in trade deals, Daniel, came forth one day with a female rabbit in tow. The rabbit, Mika, was quite peculiar, and greatly intrigued Jabaro because of her tendencies in predatory behavior. Mika offered to help the two cheetahs find Kuva's lost sibling.

The Serpentine Quarry

Before this encounter with Mika, Jabaro had taken up a job given by a nearby settler camp to exterminate a huge snake monster that was terrorizing the wildlands. He was to team up with another mysterious bounty hunter rat named Shin.

Present day, Jabaro leads the two ladies to an abandoned camp in the forest, once a hub for tribals and settlers to hold markets. They discover large snake tracks on the ground. Jabaro, being afraid of snakes, is suddenly hesitant to track the monster down, but the promise of a huge reward and a potential ticket back to England motivated him to look past his fears.

While Kuva had gone ahead, he and Mika try to follow the trail and track down the wayward cheetah. A single snake, however, slithered onto the path before them. Mika trapped the snake and then swallowed it whole, to Jabaro's utter shock. Hearing a familiar scream up ahead, Jabaro and Mika continue to head down the trail until a blood-red smokescreen separates the two.

Seeing Mika wrapped in the creature's coils, Jabaro took the opportunity to stealthily approach and try to land a fatal sneak attack on the monster. His efforts were thwarted by Mika herself, who alerted the monster to his presence. Jabaro, angered greatly by his missed chance, tried to explain to Mika his goals in taking out his bounty. The snake proceeded to put Jabaro to sleep with hypnotic vision.

Jabaro is forced awake by his partner Shin and finds Mika's large sword nearby. Taking it, the two would catch up to the snake monster, Mika, and Kuva. The serpent, occupied with the armed settlers out in a clearing ahead, is eventually gunned down. Jabaro knocks out Mika with the handle of the large sword. Kuva is also knocked out, and the two are taken back to the abandoned camp, tied up to a stove inside one of the structures.

Made known of Shin's intentions to question the two captives, Jabaro feared for Kuva's life. He went into the cabin, freeing his lover from her binds. He refused to answer Kuva's questions, which angered her to the point of devouring him whole. Trapped in Kuva's stomach, Jabaro would be carried back to Kuva's camp, where he would eventually be released from her gut.

Near Death Experience

Confronted with questions again, Jabaro told her his ulterior motive to try to get them out of Africa and into a cozy life with the settlers in their homeland. They argued further while Mika went after Daniel to try to find Kibwe, who Mika spotted while they were at the clearing with the snake beast.

After their argument had settled, Jabaro informed Kuva that he was going to go bring back Kibwe himself. In actuality, he planned to follow Mika to see what she was up to. Tailing her all the way back to the mound where the snake monster was shot, Jabaro kept a close eye on the rabbit until he was attacked from behind. His partner, Shin, swallowed him whole without a warning. Infuriated with his failure to help him kill the serpent as well as his getting in the way of his intentions with Mika and Kuva, the rat aimed to digest the unfortunate cheetah.

Nearly succumbing to death's embrace in the engorged stomach of Shin, the rat suddenly released him, exchanging Jabaro with Mika. Jabaro found himself in an underground shrine, freaked out by the scene before him as well as Shin himself. The rat whipped the cheetah as he fled, telling him to inform Kuva of how Mika had spared his life.

Making a mad dash back to the settler camp, a naked Jabaro told them what had happened.

Four Days Later

After Jabaro had been released by Shin, he went to reunite with Kuva, telling her of Mika's fate. He also confirmed that Kibwe was with the settlers and that he seemed to have no intention of leaving. He followed her over to the camp where she had a heated argument with Kibwe, ending in Kuva leaving him in a rage.

Jabaro would attain a new set of clothes as well as finding a stash of his that carried extra money and a handcrafted bow, quiver, and arrows.

When four days had passed, Jabaro went back to Kuva's camp and found that she and her siblings were being confronted by members of the Sehkmet Tribe, a powerful tribe of lions. Soon enough, they were forcefully bound and taken away by them. Not wanting to stir the wrath of the Sehkmet, Jabaro turned to the settlers for aid.

Returning to the camp, he was mortified to find that Mika was there. Almost positive that she had digested in Shin's stomach, Jabaro believed she was a witch using her image. Jabaro tackled the rabbit and nearly shoved her into his maw, but then she spoke the words that Shin had said to him about telling Kuva of her sacrifice. The cheetah released her, convinced she was really Mika, though he was flabbergasted that she managed to live the encounter with Shin.

Goodman, leader of the settlers in that section of the wildlands, and Daniel came forth to see what the commotion was about. Jabaro told them about Kuva having been taken and begged them for help in rescuing her from the Sehkmet tribe, but not only did the settlers have their own issues with the Kevala tribe, but they were running low on men. Mika offered to help Jabaro, and the duo took off to find the Sehkmet patrol.

Before they could make headway, Kibwe confronted them, demanding he go with them to save his siblings. Mika managed to convince him to stay at camp for his safety, and she even persuaded him to give her the revolver he had been toting around. With Kibwe safe at camp, the two proceeded to journey onward.

Aiming to head back to Kuva's camp for clues as to their whereabouts, Mika put the two at a halt when she alerted him to her empty stomach. She suggested they stop to hunt, but Jabaro insisted they keep moving. This greatly upset Mika, who swallowed the cheetah whole to satiate her belly until she could find food she would actually digest.

Sehkmet Encounter

Upon returning to Kuva's camp, Jabaro is released from Mika's guts, and the two go in hiding from a group of three Sehkmets who are present at the camp. When one of the male lions walks towards them to investigate Mika's stench, Jabaro points an arrow at him after Mika attacks him, commanding him to drop his weapon. Suddenly the lion is launched into Jabaro and they both crumple in a heap.

Having been knocked unconscious, he soon wakes up, hearing the other two female lions nearby. When one of them moves the male's unconscious body aside, Jabaro points his arrow at her, telling her to stay back and that they only want to know where Kuva is. Mika orders him to throw his bow aside, saying that they would take both Mika and Jabaro to her at a nearby camp. One of the lionesses allows Mika to swallow the male lion while Jabaro is then gulped down by the archer lioness. Jabaro sloshes about in the lioness's sweltering belly until he eventually passes out again. He is released at dusk and gets tied to a stake.

He is soon confronted by the archer lioness that ate him before, Mika besides her with a giant belly. He is ordered to give testimony on Mika's claims in her eating the Sehkmet princess, but planning on releasing her later, only to be eaten by Shin. Jabaro starts to explain and side with Mika, but this is sidetracked when Faari approaches them all, claiming to be familiar with Mika's nature as an Awakener. Jabaro spaces out once more but is released by one of the males and led to the Sehkmet stronghold with Mika.

He is promptly tied up inside the stronghold, but not before he attempts to reunite with Kuva, rushing towards her and narrowly avoiding being shot. Mika, after conversing with one of the Sehkmet chiefs, Zurani, asks them to release him from the stronghold, and they do so. Jabaro continues to plan from a distance, watching the Sehkmets' activity, but not being able to do much. A couple hours later, he would hear much commotion in the stronghold, the lions combating something invisible. The cheetah takes the opportunity to climb up the wall after finding a bow and arrows nearby. He shoots the invisible creature with an arrow lit on fire, which helps the lions target it easier.

Jabaro slinks back into cover, and soon sees Kuva being let go from the stronghold along with her siblings.

Personality

Jabaro is rather cowardly despite his extensive experience across Africa as a bounty hunter. He has killed many beasts, but it has not hardened him enough where he could stand up to larger threats, excluding Java, of course, whose death by his hand would have meant his ticket out of Africa. He will do everything in his power to get what he wants, but he would not go as far as to hurt those he cherishes.

The cheetah is madly in love with Kuva, and makes it his mission to offer her and her siblings a better life. He is very stubborn in his methods and even shady when he has to conceal information. He is not completely hard-headed, however, and tries to open up to new discoveries. One example would be Mika herself, who showed him that even prey species have the capability to devour meat, let alone in huge quantities.

Forte/Skills

Jabaro's studies into settler tools and weaponry has given him a versatile skill set compared to most other bounty hunters native to Africa. When he does not have access to a firearm, he makes use of a bow that he crafted himself. When not using ranged weaponry, he prefers large blades to dispatch larger beasts.

Being a cheetah, Jabaro does have quick movement, which helps his momentum in cutting down his foes.
